2026-09-01 Factory HistoMap namespace review

Reviewed and re-reviewed the Factory histo preprocessing identifier fix through its validation update.

Work Done

Reviewed the uncommitted Factory histo preprocessing diff against the full runner, service completion logic, vxData schemas, API create behavior, and repository identifier conventions. Confirmed canonical transformed maps now use the derived component namespace and do not collide with the component foreground map. Initially reported that existing 0.2.0 outputs remain skipped and that unvalidated HistoScan prefixes can cause duplicate resource identifiers after upload. On re-review, confirmed the new early scan-prefix and canonical source-map suffix validation fully resolved the malformed-input finding without changing mask pairing. Existing-output repair was clarified as separate migration scope, leaving no code-PR findings. Ran Factory lint, typecheck, and format checks successfully. No project files were edited.

Lessons Learned: Pitfalls

The general histo SOPs did not cover Factory output identifier or completion conventions. The current vxData schemas also do not enforce payload-specific identifier prefixes, so typed retrieval alone does not establish a canonical histoscan/ identifier.

Lessons Learned: Improvements

A durable Factory histo preprocessing note should document the paired scan/map namespace, the foreground-map root convention, and the fact that component_0 currently acts as the completion marker independent of Factory package version.
