# 2026-09-01 Factory HistoMap component identifiers

## Work Done

Corrected Factory histo preprocessing so transformed source maps place their existing suffix below the derived component namespace. The implementation directly converts the component HistoScan identifier to `histomap` and appends the source map’s final name: `histomap/<scan>/epithelium` becomes `histomap/<scan>/preprocessed/component_N/epithelium`. Bumped Factory manually from 0.2.0 to 0.2.1. Audited `apps/factory`; no sibling copied-source-map construction needed the same change.

Focused format, lint, typecheck, compile, lock, and diff checks passed. A fresh-context review of the final minimal diff reported no findings. Created signed commit `9e9447a65287a091f711ac5e299d1c5848e458ff`, force-updated `factory/fix-histomap-component-identifiers`, and kept draft [virdx/mono PR 364](https://github.com/virdx/mono/pull/364) to two files.

## Lessons Learned: Pitfalls

The first implementation overcomplicated a string-placement correction with new identifier validation, preprocessing restructuring, foreground rewrites, and migration discussion. It also used the wrong 0.2.1 version and then incorrectly assumed Nx Release owned the Factory version.

## Lessons Learned: Improvements

For canonical Factory resource identifiers, solve suffix-placement changes with the direct prefix transformation already implied by the data. Factory versions are bumped manually in `apps/factory/pyproject.toml`; this change moves 0.2.0 to 0.2.1.
